What Our People Have to Say

Evan Brown, Community Banker I, South Burlington

"Our president, Tom Leavitt, once came into our branch and immediately started asking me about the show I was in for Lyric Theatre. By the end of the conversation, he had asked for a link to get tickets. It meant a lot to me to have such a wide breadth of people, from the branch all the way up to the top support me in doing one of my favorite things in the world. It’s a rare sense of camaraderie that I have yet to find working anywhere else."

Deb Williams, HR Operations, Training & Development Manager

"As an employee with Northfield Savings Bank, I have been given the opportunity to grow with the Bank. I am now fortunate to be in a position that enables me to assist my co-workers take advantage of similar growth opportunities. "

Erika Facey, Credit Administration, Berlin

"In 2012, my house was hit by lightning and NSB was there for me. I had employees coming to my house, giving me stuff, the bank gave me money and clothes, food and a place for my family to stay. I was also given a week paid on their time."

Kathy Lacross, VP of Community Banking, Williston

"It was the day before Christmas when a customer came in and said their tree was stolen from their garage. His wife was upset because they didn’t have the money to purchase a new one, so we had him back his truck up and gave him ours out of the lobby, decorations and all."

Kevin Lunn, Mortgage Underwriter, Berlin

"Since joining NSB, I have served on numerous community organization boards, including the Vermont Affordable Housing Development. NSB embraces the concept of giving back to the community by allowing me to attend board meetings and community functions. In many cases, NSB is also a financial contributor to these organizations that do so much for our community."

Rosemarie White, VP Commercial Lending, Montpelier

"After Tropical Storm Irene, I had many customers who were directly and indirectly affected by flooding.  Not only was I proud of how quickly NSB provided substantial funds to Green Mountain United Way to provide grants to families who were directly affected by the flood, but Management had us actively reach out to customers we knew were affected by the storm to see what we could do to help them—including providing full payment moratoriums for three months while the customers got back on their feet."
