Northfield Savings Bank is proud to announce the installation of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) at all branch and office locations, reinforcing commitment to the safety and well-being of employees, customers, and Vermont communities.

AEDs are critical, life-saving devices designed to assist individuals experiencing sudden cardiac arrest. By placing these units in all locations and ensuring employees are trained in their use, NSB is taking a proactive approach to emergency preparedness.

“We are a community bank and taking care of our community is critical for us,” said NSB President & CEO, Joe Bator. “Having AEDs in each of our locations provides better service if emergencies were to occur.”

The initiative includes the deployment of 21 AED units across NSB’s footprint as part of a comprehensive safety program led by Melissa Neun, NSB Senior Vice President and Chief Risk Officer. The program was implemented in collaboration with ZOLL Medical, Reynolds & Son, and Barre Town EMS.

To ensure employees were fully prepared, NSB partnered with Barre Town EMS to conduct bank-wide training sessions prior to installation. These hands-on trainings equipped staff with the knowledge and confidence to respond in the event of a cardiac emergency.

Expanding this effort beyond the bank, NSB partnered with ZOLL Medical to donate a portable AED unit to The Family Center of Washington County. The donation helps ensure life-saving equipment is more accessible within the community and supports the organization's ability to respond in the event of a cardiac emergency.
