Good food for a good cause

Hunger MOuntain Co-op grocery pack

For the past 14 years, Hunger Mountain Co-op has supported local organizations and area schools by donating grocery bags filled with nutritious food. To fill those bags, they collaborate with local vendors and community partners to source healthy products like tuna, peanut butter, black beans and brown rice.

Northfield Savings Bank supports this program by donating funds to help purchase the food, and our volunteers, including Community Banking Officer Nubia Fuller and VP of Marketing Mark Mast (both pictured), helped pack grocery bags.

The packed bags were picked up by volunteers and distributed to select elementary schools, senior centers, and other service organizations in Washington county.

Co-op shoppers can get involved by rounding up their total purchase at the checkout line, as part of the Give Change program. Funds collected are used to purchase healthy pantry staples.
