Rick Nelson, VP Information Technology at NSB, presented a workshop on cyber security to several small business owners at the NSB Operations Center in Berlin on June 8. Topics covered included educating staff to be careful when opening email from unknown sources, limiting access to sensitive equipment and keeping anti-virus programs and Windows patches up to date. Social Engineering, the psychological manipulation of people into divulging confidential information, was also discussed. While not specific to cyber security, disaster recovery for records - electronic and paper - was also a popular topic during the program.
