NSB checking and savings accounts offer:

No time to go to a branch? PhoneBank lets you check your balance, find current rates, and make a transfer between accounts. It is fast, free and easy -- and gives you the information you need when you need it. As long as you have a touch-tone phone, you are ready to use the automated NSB PhoneBank.

To use PhoneBank, call 888 NSB-2424 (888-672-2424)

Online Account Access via eNSB

Take the Bank out of banking. Safe, simple and secure, eNSB allows you to keep track of your balance and transfer funds with the click of a mouse, whenever and wherever you want.

ATM cards

Access your accounts quickly and safely. Northfield Savings Bank ATM cards are fast and convenient

Use an ATM card to access your Northfield Savings Bank checking or savings account. You can link up to 10 accounts from your ATM card, and you can use it across Vermont (and all over the U.S.). You can use your ATM card at any machine with these logos: NYCE, Cirrus, and the Falcon Network (machines found throughout Vermont). Even minors can use an ATM card with parental permission.

Tracking your spending is easy.

Your ATM withdrawals will show up on your monthly statement. You can also track your activity online when you use eNSB, our online banking service.

What does it cost?

We do not charge for any ATM withdrawals made from our own ATM machines, Falcon Network or Allpoint ATMs. However, we will charge a fee when you use any other ATM. If the owner of the ATM you use also charges a fee, it will be disclosed on the machine. Please refer to the NSB Service Fee Schedule.

Apply for an ATM/debit card

If you also have a Northfield Savings Bank checking account, you may want an NSB MasterMoney debit card -- an ATM card and a debit card in one.

Get an ATM/debit card Agreement form, visit your local branch, or contact our Call Center to request one.

Never write your PIN on your card

If your card is ever lost or stolen, call us immediately at 800-NSB-CASH. Instructions on how to report the loss are available 24 hours a day.

Combined Monthly Statement

Combined statements that include your checking, club, and savings accounts in one report (enrollment required).

Direct Deposit

Have your paycheck or Social Security check deposited directly to your Northfield Savings Bank checking or savings account (or to both if your employer allows). Direct deposit is convenient and it is easy to sign up with your employer or the Social Security Administration (SSA).

Ask your employer if direct deposit is available. Many local employers offer direct deposit, and it saves companies time and money. The SSA strongly recommends direct deposit -- read all about it at the SSA web site. We can even provide you with the SSA form.

Qualified accounts

You can direct deposit into any Northfield Savings Bank checking or savings account.

How it works

Money is automatically deposited into the account(s) you designate. You still receive a pay stub or receipt for your records, and you can verify the deposit using the NSB PhoneBank or eNSB.

What it costs

Direct deposit is free and it is easy to get started. Just ask your employer or check with a customer service representative for more details the next time you visit your branch. You can also call us at 802-485-5871 (1-800-NSB-CASH) or contact us.

Interest Compounded Daily

Your savings will earn compounded daily interest.

Sweeps (Overdraft Protection)

Avoid bounced checks

Bouncing a check or incurring a service fee because your balance drops too low can happen to anyone, but it does not have to happen to you. Link your checking account to an Northfield Savings Bank savings account and you can have money transferred automatically to protect against these charges.

Qualified accounts

You can link any Northfield Savings Bank checking account to a regular Savings or Money Market Savings account. As long as it is a statement account, it can be linked.

You can even protect two accounts against overdraft charges -- just designate a secondary checking account on your form. However, you can only set up minimum balance protection for your primary checking account.

How it works

Money is automatically drawn in $100 increments to prevent an overdraft fee (overdraft protection) or service charge (minimum balance protection) from being incurred. The number of automatic preauthorized and telephone transfer withdrawals from your savings account to another Northfield Savings Bank account or to a third party is limited to six per month.

The available balance in your sweep accounts are not included when attempting ATM withdrawals or debit card purchases.

Download a Sweep Protection Agreement. A fee of $5.00 will be charged for each automatic transfer of funds performed by this service.
